‘SMILE 3’ IS IN THE WORKS WITH ORIGINAL WRITER ON BOARD

By Julian Schultz

One of the most beloved modern horror stories is going to become a trilogy. You heard that right, a third installment of the movie Smile is now in the works.

According to sources, the production will be in full swing and is expected to be released sometime in late 2026. It is also confirmed that the original writer and director of the first Smile film, Parker Finn, is back to direct and write the movie’s third installment. In an interview with Collider, Finn expressed that he would love to write a more intimate story for the future of Smile, despite having the lore’s curse already spread to many people.

“For me, Smile is a vehicle to tell really intense and hopefully thoughtful character stories, and so I’d wanna make sure that we find a way to really invest intimacy into the storytelling. That’s super important to me. But I think there are some really interesting tricks up our sleeves when it comes to Smile.” – Parker Finn

With the original writer/director back at the wheel with a strong vision of what he would like the third movie to be, there’s no doubt that this future installment is going to be a horror film that’ll put a smile on people’s faces.
